I managed to post my cream poplin dress recap on the blog, and tried to write the marquee dress one as well, but photobucket was being a massive butthead all day, so that was a failure. So I kept poking away at a couple new hats for the shop instead. One good old 1780s mushroom hat and one possibly stupid tall 1810s hat that I'm trying out a pattern tweak for.

Also I just discovered tonight that the manufacturer of (proper) hoop steel has, well, stopped manufacturing. They stopped last year so I'm sure I'm the last to this party, but I'm personally offended by this. PERSONALLY, I tell you! I was contemplating making an elliptical hoop for my birthday outfit this year, but now I rather think not. Amazon has it for $120, Vogue Fabrics for $189. What a deal. (I know there are substitutes, but right now I just feel like bitching.)

With what I daresay is a majority of my sanity intact. Always a good thing. Still icing my face and taking my Vicodin religiously, but I did go to my 12.30 class this afternoon. Nobody seemed to notice that my face bore any similarity to a small rodent's, even after I mentioned the teeth being taken out, so either they were all being incredibly polite, or my not-swelled-up face is fatter than I thought it was.

You know what, I don't think I want to know.

And now of course I'm behind on work (it's so easy to!) because all I did yesterday was watch A&E's Pride and Prejudice (and that thing is looong!) and complain. And eat one meal, sort of, because it's still no fun to eat.

That is all. Sewing content will resume shortly. (Hopefully.)

I mean, not like it affects any projects I'm working on now- because there aren't any; it's just a bit ineffectual. Why do I get my sewing mojo back when it's completely pointless? Whatever.

Not much of interest, just babble for me, myself, and I )

Okay, enough of that; on to more important things! Like wondering how much I'll be whinging at this time tomorrow...'cause the teeth are coming out tomorrow. Very Excited. Maybe I'll still be all hopped up on drugs. That'll be fun.

1) Spending all day running round to dentist-y appointments isn't really fun in snow and ice. It also results in no time to finish all of one's homework. This leads to a skipping of the class one did not write one's abstracts for. ...At least I got to sleep in this morning?

2) Good-looking young dentists make the 2 hour wait totally worth it.

3) Choosing between having a completely out-of place eyetooth and getting braces when one is 21 is in fact a really difficult decision. The braces win when one does not in fact have to pay for them oneself.

4) Discovery: Looking at panoramic x-rays of my teeth really freak me out for some reason.

5) This whole individual insurance thing is CRAP. Out of the $1600 it will cost to get my four wisdom teeth taken out, my parents' insurance will pay for two of the teeth. Not the anesthesia or the other two teeth. Because they're not "necessary." I'm lucky, since we can pay the difference, but if we couldn't? Guess those teeth would be staying in! Until they all fell out, that is, from the angle the wisdom teeth are growing in, which will eventually push my back molars out. But who needs teeth?! Ummm, f you, insurance companies. *hates insurance companies with a new-found passion* I really can't wait until I'm out of school and have no insurance for anything at all.

6) Am getting said evil bastard wisdom teeth out on Feb. 18th. Very excited. Except not really.

I have to get up early tomorrow. Yuk. To go to the dentist. Double yuk.

The entire purpose of this post was to complain about that, yes.

And to remind myself to bring my Beatles Monopoly back up to TCNJ and play it, per [livejournal.com profile] bagiism 's recommendation. Hee.

(Also, for some reason, the song I'm listening to right now is totally cracking me up. I've listened to it like three times in a row...John Entwistle's songs for the Who = <3

Blah.

I have a nasty cold in the head and I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. *scowl* I blame TCNJ; end of last semester I had a cold, then I went home and got over it and wasn't sick at all for a month; now I come back to this wretched place and I came down with a cold within a week. UNFAIR.

If it hadn't been only the second time I had these classes I wouldn't have gone. As it was, I figured that would look bad, and so instead was That Person That Everyone Hates sneezing and sniffling in the back of the class. Ugh. At least it's the weekend, which means I can sleep forever.

Blah, I tell you!

This does not inspire me to sew, BY THE WAY.

And my wisdom teeth are acting up again. They don't hurt a lot, just kind of ache a little. I hate the dentist lots, also, as I told my mother my wisdom teeth were annoying me over a month ago, and they wouldn't get me an appointment (not to get them out, but to see if they should be taken out! um, hai, I SAID THEY WERE ANNOYING ME, so, yes, GET THEM THE HELL OUT) until this coming Wednesday, the 28th.  (I know doctors etc. are always very busy, but I'm too grumpy to be reasonable.)

If these teeth continue to act up and I have to miss any school to get them out, I will be pissed, I tell you. Eff you, wisdom teeth.
