Yaaaaaaawn. I'm so boring this week! Maybe it's a reaction to everyone else's slightly frenzied Costume College posts..."nope, no looming deadlines here!" *stretches lazily*

I worked on the "dress the color of a winter sunset" a bit today; the back's sewn together and I'm in the process of sewing the skirt to the back bodice. By hand, which sort of sucks, because this fabric drags a lot on the needle and gives off all these wispy fraying bits. Lovely.

Have also been sloooooowly working on the spoon bonnets - the one's covered in flannel completely, and the other just needs the brim done.

And just today I remembered that I'm volunteering at Glen Foerd on August 1st for their 1920s Lawn Party, and that I wanted something more practical to work in than my green lawn dress! (Really I need a dress with a pocket, as I don't want to have to leave a purse somewhere with all those people around!) August 1st is...soon. Oooops. Good thing that'll be mainly machine sewn. Should probably order fabric for that...like...now, as I don't have any lightweight wool in a domestic sort of color.

I'm with you there. So many people panicked, and I'm idling along on some stays and a pinball. Not that I don't wish I could go with them.

Of course! And if I ever go to CC I'm sure I'll be the worst of the wretched messes of last-minute sewing, haha! I've given myself some ridiculous deadlines later, so I'll be lazy while I can!

...even if that seems decidedly counter-intuitive. :D

It's a very pretty fabric! Also very much a brat. I get spoiled by nice wools and cottons, and then this fabric comes up, all HI I'M HERE TO FRAY LET'S PARTY
