Pinned the side and shoulder seams on the spencer to try it on before sewing it all up - looks like it will fit so that's good. I can't find any spencer sleeve patterns though, and that is annoying. Sometime soon I need to cull and reorganize my patterns...and maybe find lost sleeves floating around somewhere.
The straw hat blanks are a bit of a mixed bag so far - I'm working on two at once just to practice shaping them! The twisted seagrass one I picked to do first because I suspected it'd be the easiest to shape, and I was right; I'm done with that one apart from some fine-tuning. (I wouldn't call it good, by any sense of the word, but...passable??) The honeycomb straw is proving a bit more recalcitrant, which is why I ended up ordering the roll of buckram last night. The twisted seagrass is for Robin, as she's kindly volunteered to take my dubious experiments in headgear off my hands, but if I get fed up with the straw I'll cover a buckram form instead!
