That bastard is 550 pages. I started it at 8pm and finished it around 5am. This means, with work and all, I got three and a half hours' sleep. But like I said, WHO NEEDS SLEEP WHEN THERE IS LIFE TO BE READ?

*represses outpouring of love for Keith's book*

I'll wait til somebody reads it, then harass them forever about it. I'm already harassing my one RL partner-in-crime-with-these-things, M, about reading it. "Dude, it's been out for two whole days." "GO READ IT NOW!!" Says the zombie with the dark circles under her eyes. Yes, that's an excellent recommendation.

Halloween? Oh yeah. Guess those late-nights aren't going anywhere any time soon. Time to start hopping myself up on that wonderful legal drug, caffeine. (Drugs? Keeeeeeef.) Too bad I can't stand coffee.

Also, I felt the need to answer the headline of this article out loud. Who, What, Why: How Is Keith Richards Still Alive? Me: BY BEING AWESOME.

It's good then? Hope you get some sleep tonight.

I have a week off the week after next and I'm going to get it for then - so if I spend all night reading it won't matter!

If that article is anything to go by this book is going to be so good for macros:-

To be fair, I'm enormously biased in Keith's favor, so of course I'd think it's great! But, well, there you go! I haven't actually heard what anyone else actually thinks of it.

And that is a good plan, to read it when you actually have time off! Me, I have no self-control. Or, well, I don't care to control that. XD

And I think you're right, there are going to be sooooo many macro possibilities...I loved that bit of the book! Dwarves. Oh Lord. :D

I always wondered why Keith was smiling in that pic, while Mick looks quite worried - now we know.

I think it's the bits from the late 60s to the early 70s I'm most interested in reading. Like that drug bust - which has completely passed down into legend. I'm currently reading Andrew Loog Oldham's 2Stoned, but it rambles on to all kinds of odd tangents, so I find myself picking through it for all the juicy bits. Bet Keef's book will be a joy to read after that one!

Oh, I'll have to check Oldham's book out eventually, never read that one. Even with its rambling... Reading (probably too much) about my favorite bands is an excellent use of my time! ;) Even when it's a silly book, like Tony Sanchez's infamous book!

I enjoyed ALO's first book Stoned, but that was just about his early life up till 1964 when he worked with the Stones. The second book could do with a lot of editing, but I'm persevering as there is a whole Who section coming up.

The second book though so far has some juice bits in it, like his and Mick's relationship - it's a little bit more than hinted that Mick is bisexual, and there was a bit about Brian and Andrew's adventures with the groupie, and their drug taking.

I had hoped for his views on the Immediate years, but he doesn't really go into them. And even though it's his book, you still get the view that he was a very screwed up bloke - and had quite a nasty side. He manipulated everyone.

I haven't read Tony Sanchez's book - I think I'd rather read Keef's!

Oh, I'll have to check it out, then...I love books with juicy bits like that! And I like seeing lots of people's views on one band's experiences. Even when they're not exactly...reliable. *cough*Tony*cough*

I only read it because my school library had, I think, two books on the Stones written by anyone actually involved with the group, and I was determined to read them (all the other ones were like, and this is what I think this song means, and let me break it down for all the music majors, snore). The other was Stanley Booth's book, which actually IS good! I didn't realize Sanchez's book was THAT BOOK til I read reviews and put two and two together. Aha!

Admittedly, it's quite entertaining, but hardly gospel truth. And if I recall correctly, he said some nasty things about the whole Brian/Anita/Keith thing, and really about Keith and Mick in regards to Brian's deterioration. Or maybe that was this other book I read about Brian, where the author was like, in love with the image of him she created and was all, it's kinda okay that he hit his girlfriends, and Mick and Keith were dicks, and Keith and Anita were addicted to heroin and now they look like crap so they GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED. I was like...? And it was even weirder because she actually did talk to Keith for her book (this was a fairly old book I think, from the early 80s, maybe), but I think it got lost in translation a little, hahaha. Not at all like what Keith said in his book, of course! :D
