Well, I took four pictures - sorry to anyone who likes to live vicariously through my posts! I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] quincy134's got tons, though. ;) Just for proof that I did indeed show up, and that [livejournal.com profile] hiraimi wore her butt-fluffle jacket. ([livejournal.com profile] dragoneyes19 wanted proof.)

I'm going to be really industrious, you guys, and write an LJ and blog post, when all I want to do is go to sleep on the couch. Be proud of me.

[livejournal.com profile] dragoneyes19, [livejournal.com profile] hiraimi, [livejournal.com profile] miss_philomena, and I went to the Colonial Ball in Trenton last night (hosted by the Old Barracks Museum), and I think it was a fun time! Hopefully everyone else did too!

I did a blog post about making my cream wool jacket, though I think it's probably more interesting to my casual blogger followers than you guys. You kind of know all this stuff already!

(Although there is definitely a picture of the skirting in there for Robin.)

Fun little 18thc outing today with [livejournal.com profile] blackcat452, [livejournal.com profile] hiraimi, [livejournal.com profile] grace_lee_19c, [livejournal.com profile] miss_philomena, and [livejournal.com profile] dragoneyes19! We went to Fort Mifflin's 18th century Siege Day and got a tour, saw a little battle reenactment, and investigated all the underground bits of the fort thoroughly. We always manage to hunt down the reenactors with a fire on cold days! "Hi, you have a fire? Let's be friends!"

Robin took over my camera for most of the day so you actually get some pictures, heh. Full album's here

I did finish my jacket, and it's comfy and rather cute, if I do say so myself. The sleeves are a little looser than I usually make them (interestingly, because I used the same pattern as the cranberry anglaise, but ok), but that does mean a nice range of motion! And the front of the jacket does wrinkle, because of the way I cut the stripes, and neglected to pin it down to the petticoat, but eh. It's okay.

We didn't get a group photo, because oops. But here's us-minus-Robin.

Next weekend's the Pumpkin Tea, for which I'm probably going to wear the pompom regency. Definitely a rewear, anyway. After that, the next thing I'll want a new outfit for is the colonial ball in Trenton in December (if they ever post DETAILS about it), and I think we want to do another winter outing and get our carriage ride! And ice-skating in Dilworth Park at City Hall perhaps. That'll probably be in the first weeks of January, and I have Plans which I will be posting about in short order! :D

Down to the wire, as I have an extra-long shift at work tomorrow, and I know I won't feel like sewing when I get home. Still have to sew on the top of one sleeve and finish the CF/neck edge, but I think I can do that tonight if I quit getting distracted by, like, The Oatmeal. (In my defense I was also eating dinner.)

Today was my one day off in between now and Siege Day, and I think I made good use of it!

Next up is to attach the skirts, then I can pin the back shoulders and try it on. If I can finish that tomorrow, then I can attach the sleeves Friday, and deal with the stomacher Saturday. Haven't quite decided whether I want to lace over the stomacher or pin...but if I run out of time for eyelets it may decide that question, haha.

Today's accomplishments: sewed one sleeve together. Hmm. May need to step up my game.

Somehow "I'm not going to try and make a jacket for next weekend" turned into this:

...which looks an awful lot like the pieces for a jacket. Oops?

I even took pictures of the mockup process, mainly because some people don't believe me when I say I'm really making it up as I go along. ;) Will do a nice blog post on its construction once it's all done...which hopefully will end up being this week. Heh.

Well, I did figure I had enough time to make my new shift or to finish my new stays or to make a new jacket...I decided I wanted the jacket! You may recognize the fabric; it's the leftovers from my winter 18-teens dress from last year. I thought that would look nice with my cranberry wool petticoat.
