Let's see if I can be very diligent and get this writeup finished tonight...

The weekend didn't get off to a promising start, as I got up Thursday morning to find that [personal profile] koshka_the_cat had canceled her flight and wouldn't be joining us, as she was sick. Worst timed flu ever! We missed her very much. The only time we didn't was when [personal profile] robinsnest and I were listening to Christmas music on the drive out (as Katherine's not a fan and we wouldn't inflict that on her! but we really do enjoy it)! ;)

Since Alice has helpfully posted her photos, there are now enough of my own silly face to make a recap not entirely photo-less. Thanks Alice! :D

So! Wednesday night I decided to stay up late and throw together a hood, because suddenly cold was going to be a Thing. (Nobody wants the ones in my shop so I could have worn either of them, but didn't like how they looked with my coat and dresses.) Bulk of it took about an hour (because yay machine sewing!), but measuring and cutting all the strips of rabbit took another hour! So I of course had some sewing to do in Gettysburg, but since I think Katherine was the only one, I didn't feel too bad!

Thursday I headed out to [livejournal.com profile] sewloud's place around noon, and we managed to shove her, me, [livejournal.com profile] koshka_the_cat, and alllllll of our stuff into one car. Wheeeee! Who needs to see out the back of their car, right? Katherine got these shots of it...

Onward! Not for the faint of heart! )
And I would like to note that I started writing this post approximately 12 hours ago! Silly Thanksgiving dinner and eternal cleanup! *flops* But hey, now I can sew 1830s without (much) guilt! Still need to get pics of the marquee dress. May in fact wait til the Victorian Christmas tea at Smithville if we're doing that, though. Am bad blogger.

Back from Gettysburg in one piece! And it was probably more fun than is really allowed. We talked and laughed so much my voice is starting to go.

I lost my camera for a full third of the weekend (thanks, Ghost Rat of Gettysburg), so I did even more terribly on the picture-taking end than usual. Of course it was during the time I wore the new marquee dress - I may have to actually dress myself up again this week and go out and get pictures of it so I can do a not-pathetic public blog post about it.

You've probably already seen the Most Important Photograph of the weekend, since we all have the same friends on LJ, but in case you haven't, and for my own amusement... (It's funny because you can tell who the slightly twitchy people are. *raises hand* In our defense, it was a 30-second exposure! Probably why I look like I hate everyone.)

I'll do a slightly better recap later (mostly for myself, because I love to come back to a post and read how much fun I had!), but for now I'm going to go back to sitting and doing nothing til I have to go to work. (Says the whiny one who hardly had to travel at all to get to this event!) Should have taken today off too. Boo. Oh well. *flops*

Home in one piece! And my things are unpacked from my car...and left all over the floor immediately inside the side door where I dropped them. Unpacking and cleaning up tonight seems to be a lot to ask.

We neglected to get a picture of all our group on Saturday, but here's one of us at the ball Friday night, from Kat:

Hmm, I did promise you all a post, didn't I? Well, well, here you go...

Long post! )

Okay, what's the next sewing project?? :D
