mandie_rwHave been doing a little bit of everyday-clothing-sewing, after I posted earlier about my pet en l'air. Mainly because the pile of things on the back of my chair at the sewing machine was getting silly. (That tends to be where I dump things that just need one or two things to be finished up, like a hem or a zipper.)
Finished two skirts, and until about half an hour was working on a dress, until I ran out of bobbin thread. All was well and good until I tried to turn the little wheel inside the larger one on the side, so that the needle doesn't move when one is winding a bobbin. No dice. Damn thing wouldn't budge. I fought with that rotten little thing for literally ten minutes until I gave up in disgust. Eventually my mother got it un-stuck, because she's something of an Amazon - I'm almost six inches shorter tham she is, and apparently have the puny little upper-arm-strength that goes with it. Anyway, that kind of killed my stride, but maybe I'll go back to it now...if it turns out nobody's updating LJ. Hee.
