After digging through the Stash last weekend (like, actually physically digging...which involved moving a lot of bins, so you should be impressed) I couldn't find anything I liked that went with the orange shantung, so I, er, ahem, bought a length of navy-and-gold taffeta from Silk Baron.

Now I should, like, ACTUALLY make this dress, eh?

navy and gold fabric with dots swatch

(Somewhat in my defense, I sat on it for almost a week, with the tab open on my phone, and when I still wanted it after the work week, decided I'm allowed to get it! And I'm using it for the underdress which won't have a train, so I can squeak by with four yards rather than five! Totally solid defense...)

I hear you, I am only now looking at Regency (for the sake of a pelisse and that is IT!)

I want to claim me, I started the trend back in late 2020 with my Borgias gown! ;p Seriously, though, I made it and then started watching the Borgias and chatting with some costuming friends about it and one of them made a gown and at least two/three others have also started (and all of them have significantly more social media reach than me). And then I saw a bunch of others on the internet making them. So I really think it might have been me a little, maybe?

lol I rarely even make it on the trend. Seeing everyone else's stuff is always so inspiring, but it's difficult for the sewing to keep up with the inspiration!

Well great. Now I want to buy new fabric to make an ItRenn gown. (Even though I already have about 3 different fabrics in the stash that I could use.) I hope you're happy.

P.S. Your new fabric looks so pretty!
