Til the Virginia trip! Which I'm only moderately excited about, but am VERY excited to not be at work, so. Overall a win.

I finished nothing new (and am shocked, I tell you. SHOCKED) for Mick's croquet lawn party this past Sunday;  I wore the early 1960s flamingo dress that I made last year for a tea and put Tom in a vintage-style Hawaiian shirt and called it Good Enough. Which it was: everybody was in varying degrees of "20th century vintage", as the dress code was "please show up in whatever makes you happy/  still fits." NAILED IT.

Had an enjoyable time; Mick's good people, has a nice house, and is a good host. I would definitely hang out more (this is the first time I've actually made it to one of his get-togethers at his house in having known him at least five years! Belvidere in September is our usual Mick event) if he wasn't 2+ hours away.

I took the Wednesday-Tuesday week off work, so I was free to sew today, and sort of did. Decided I should probably figure out exactly WHAT I'm going to wear, and make sure it's wearable! Tackled the 1790s-Regency stuff today, and it now is indeed all wearable.

- Unpicked & resewed the sleeve seams on the 90s white round gown with a teensy tiny seam allowance, and they now juuuust fit. They're still too snug, but at least don't obviously squeeze my arm fat out like a too-tight sausage casing and make my arms all red! So, uh, victory?

- Fixed up a few small things on the verrrrry old yellow silk chemise gown. Old enough that I'm pretty sure there's nothing that survived the Photobucket move! (Blogger says 2010. Wow.) The construction on it is dog doo, but it's comfy and I can wear it without stays, which is always a win for lazy summer vacation. Plus it's so old it's practically new! LOL. I should really have also taken the front hem up about 1/2", but that would have taken it out of the "very small fixes" category, so naaaah.

- Stain-removered the spot on the back of the striped 90s open robe enough so that it's not embarrassing to wear! It's still visible but not as obvious, so whatever. I plan to wear it for our Nice Dinner, and indoor light is pretty forgiving to stains, haha. Added the "connecter" strip at the CF - sewed it on one side and it'll pin to the other. And made it extra-long as I couldn't be arsed to put all the layers on to check exactly how long the strip needed to be!

Tomorrow: laundry and that damn shirtwaist.
