But it's not done, so this is another content-lite post. At least I'm not complaining about sleeves...?
And I think I've decided to use the taupe and white striped fabric for the 1870s dress (because I watched The Duchess the other day, and now I want to save the B&W fabric for a Duchess stripey dress with a Big Hat! Someday...). It's really not as ugly and boring as it sounds! Well, okay, it is kind of boring, but it's not ugly. Promise.
I feel like I've been sewing straw braid together all day, maybe because I kind of have! First I sewed it into a hat shape (on the machine), and I didn't like it. So I took it all apart, which took a while, and now I'm in the process of sewing it back together (by hand, because I'm really no good at sewing straw braid on the machine!).
