print gown progress

I didn't quite make my sewing goal over the weekend - I did get the skirt all attached and ties put on, and even tried it on and checked how much I wanted to turn up the hem...but didn't actually get to any sewing of the hem.

Blame the absolutely gorgeous spring weather on Saturday! Upper 60s, sunny, and breezy...practically illegal to spend it indoors if you don't have to. So Tom and I went to Wissahickon Valley Park over in Philly...it's a really lovely little bit of surviving wilderness in the middle of a city. Seven miles of pristine (not technically...you shouldn't go in the creek because of the poop content) forest, studded with Wissahickon schist (no, schist, not...anyway...the ground's sparkly! The rock has mica in it)...makes for an extremely pleasant afternoon with pleasant company! We packed a Wawa picnic, LOL. And hiked three miles out...and walked the gravel path three miles back in. Heh.

(Also has a fair handful of surviving historic buildings kicking around, besides the Nature...in case I'm looking for a new location to take pictures of funny clothes!)
