Maybe I'll sew this weekend! Or maybe not...I'm still in the process of reshuffling furniture to fit the new bed, and cleaning as I go. We'll see.

Musings on the Regency picnic that's at the end of May...Robin and I were chatting a few days ago and I was browsing for fabric options for her short gown (I'm her unofficial costume fabric shopper, as I enjoy that sort of thing)...and ended up picking up a couple of Regency-adjacent prints for myself, WHOOPS. Did I need them? Well, no. But as Robin's going a bit more casual for the picnic and I'm a big copycat, I was going to finish/wear the c1800 squiggle print outfit. But then I realized that that outfit doesn't go with the post-1810 bonnet I bought from Timely Tresses...and I really wanna wear that bonnet!

The easier option would be to refit my "Lizzie Bennet" print dress to go over my new stays, but I think I'd rather try to sell that on and just make myself a pretty-but-practical-print-dress to replace it. And I couldn't decide between the striped print for an apron-front dress, or the sprigged print for a short gown and petticoat set... so I got both. xD

They should show up by the end of next week, approximately, so I can get cracking on that. If I do have time to sew anything this weekend I'll get started on a new chemisette. I've been saying I need a new one for literally years, so I think it's really time to do that!

Oh, also I did finish the green wool dress for Grandmom's service last weekend (couple of posts on Instagram here)...it's at the 95% finished-but-totally-wearable point. ;) We ended up having an absurdly late dinner on Friday night with the representatives from the Albany branch of the family, so I just wanted to get it to "wearable" for Saturday's service. I should really go back and re-hem the neckline because it's pretty janky, but at least the wool won't ravel much til I get back to it!

Your green dress fits well and looks great.

Both of those prints will make excellent Regency dresses
