I think my attention span on this particular project has just about run out at the moment. I wouldn't even have worked on it today, but I didn't want to leave bits of sleeve flounce laying out, not sewn together, because I know I'd lose them, and then I'd really be screwed.

Sleeve. Front and back. That's the sleeve that isn't crappy, by the way.

Flounce. Seven pieces. Arrrgh.

Sleeves plus flounces= finished sleeves. Whew.

Also, yes, Mabel is wearing a lei. No, that will not be worn as an accessory to the pet en l'air. Probably.
I should work on the polonaise or the Tudor gown tomorrow, but...I wanna make a bustle! (I think I'm actually going to make this outfit...I must be feeling crazier than usual.)

Thank you! I thought so too - it was one of those remnants in the bin at Joann's that I saw and just had to have!

Yeah, sometimes they have really nice stuff in there. I mean, a lot of the time, it's stuff like 3/4 of a yard of bright blue vinyl (and I would want that why?), but sometimes you can find nice drapery remnants - which is what this was and what the striped silk was, drapery fabric.

Though I will say, this cream and gold fabric was still over $10/yard, so still not cheap. But better than it originally was, plus I HAD to have it. ;)

I find nice fabric in there sometimes but it is NEVER enough to do anything with.

Yes, that is the only problem with the remnant bin! That's I tend to do better with drapery remnants, as they can be up to just under 3 yards, whereas for apparel fabric, it's 1 yard, and I've found that is sometimes enough for things like 18th c jackets, or even just trim.

And really, most of the time I'm in there, I find absolutely nothing, so it's just luck, I suppose!
