Typos courtesy of this critter, who tried to post this before I'd (we'd) actually typed anything:

He's not allowed on the table, of course.

Cats pushing random buttons and covering half the keyboard aside, I've felt moderately inspired to work on the green linen stays. I finished binding yesterday and started stitching the lining in. Got one half all done today; after the lining I just need to make the eyelets for the straps and they're done. Getting close!

We're going down for a Williamsburg weekend at the beginning of February - Robin can probably get her hands on a timeshare from the in-laws so it's actually affordable, ha ha haaaa. So that means I'll actually want these stays, which is I guess incentive! After years of loving the 18thc, I'm finally feeling rather "meh" about it - timing couldn't be better, right? I can't quite decide whether to go middle-class 70s or fancy 80s. I'm more put-together for 1770s with accessories etc, and I honestly prefer the "nice clothes for regular people" outfits...but if everybody else shows up in silks I know I'll feel very Country Mouse and be mildly grumpy about it! 70s would require little-to-no sewing (I could maybe use another, warmer, pair of nice mitts); for 1780s I'd need to do some sprucing up, as most of it I either haven't worn in five years, or took apart to fix up and never actually finished, or just started and never actually finished! Ahem. I used to be real big on the 1780s...

Actually, the condition of The Wigs might make a decision for me, as all my 1780s wigs are definitely old, and definitely getting ratty! Not entirely sure if too ratty to wear. And a new wig isn't really in the budget for this event. So...I'll have to do some digging in the hairpiece bin in the next couple days to see if that makes my decision easier.

Yay, I hope to see you there! I, for one, will definitely be upper middle class at best.

I'm not sure where this alleged timeshare is going to be

If it's Williamsburg, it's probably the Powhatan Resort.
