Oct. 24th, 2016 02:31 pmDay after a costume-weekend: as usual, brainstorming and (attempting) cleaning-up rather than actually sewing.
blackcat452's party on Saturday was lovely - her parents were gracious hosts and put out a very nice spread for us! And kept refilling my champagne glass, hee. Mainly candle-lit, which was perfectly atmospheric though not good for picture-taking (at least on my old camera) when most of the guests were in black. ;)
Sunday I hung out at
sewloud's, since I'd stayed over Saturday night, and after the awful traffic driving out to her I was determined to get my money's worth, heh. We stole
hiraimi away from her roast ("Just put it in the crock pot and come hang out with uuuuussss!") and had a "sewing day", by which I mean there was a very little bit of sewing/knitting done by all attending parties, and very much movie-watching, looking at fashion plates on Pinterest, and costume plotting for future events. As you do.
I'm waffling whether to put the neoclassical dress away again and sensibly work on my 1790s accessories - I don't need it for anything, I just wanted to get fall-foliage pictures of it, and time is ticking on that. But the pumpkin tea is also coming up soon, and it would be smart to get that stuff out of the way first. Or I could sit around for another week and try to decide between those two options...
(And I have to pick what costumes to wear to work Halloween weekend; we're allowed to dress up Saturday through Monday this year, and I happen to be working all of those days. Got to pick a balance of "wow, this is a really impressive outfit to people who don't know how to sew" and "can I actually work in that?" It's technically supposed to be made of Joann materials, but like anyone knows our fabric that well. Except me, and I don't care.)
