Underskirt

Got a bit of work done on the natural form dress tonight - I took the day off to go to an Event at Longwood Gardens with a friend, but it ended up being so disgustingly hot and humid we decided to postpone, by mutual agreement, and just met up for lunch instead. In the 90s with 90% humidity is just gross. (It's going on midnight and the "real-feel" temp is still at 92! NO.)
Anyway, so I spent my evening working on underskirt flounces and watching Michael Phelps win his 4875th gold medal (or so; I may have lost count). Poor Other Countries...they must be so tired of American swimmers at this point! And women's gymnastics, too!
I got the middle flounce sewn on and made most of the top flounce - ended up about 20" short so I have to pleat up another strip before I sew it on. Taking a little more time with the top flounce and am basting the pleats in by hand so I don't have three lines of stitching visible on that top edge (much easier to yank out hand basting than machine!). The print flounces are pleated in the opposite direction from the red one, like my original inspiration in CiD, and just for fun!
