I ordered the millinery wire for the 1830s bonnet, along with some horsehair braid for a 20thc-style sun hat. My Christmas present to mom was tickets to an international organ competition that's held at Longwood Gardens every so often, and that's in June, so I must dress appropriately. Hat seemed like it was necessary. :D (Well, hat is usually necessary at prolonged outdoor summer functions for me, haha.)

Til that gets here I'll work on the 1830s underwear and/or vintage stuff. I decided to put two more rows of cord in the petticoat today, which may have been one too many, but it's definitely not worth it to take it out, so it stays. Trimming for the waistband will wait til the stays are done - because I've learned the hard way not to trim things ahead of time!

I also started a 1940s dress from a Simplicity Retro pattern, from the most godawfully off-grain rayon print. It's geometric, too, so there was much hair-pulling while cutting out the pieces and trying to make them be somewhat symmetrical. Did not entirely succeed, but got fed up enough to not care! I sewed a couple creepy-crawly pieces together before I decided I was annoyed with the whole thing and that I should check to see if there's anything interesting on the internet (there isn't). Might have to go sew something else, haha.
