mandie_rwI decided I didn't feel like stabbing pins under my poor nail again today, so I started my 1830 corded petticoat instead. So, so boring. Probably a good thing I've started it now, as there's no way I'll be able to pay attention to it long enough to put the cording in all in one go. I'm only four rows in (out of sixteen planned) and zzzzzzzzzz. Good thing I decided to machine most of the underwear - this would take me three years to finish!
I'm putting the cords in tucks - definitely required a bit more math (which I probably did wrong, heh), but I didn't want to muck around with sewn-on channels, or have the weight of a double layer of cotton to sandwich the cording in. So, tucks it is! Made more annoying by deciding to gore the front panel so I can have a flat-fronted petti...1830 is right around when rectangular skirts started coming in again, but I want the option of a flat front (the not-spangled spangled dress will probably have a gored front panel, like the inspiration dress), so I'm goring the corded petti and the petti to go over that.
