starting 1790s

I decided that I probably ought to be working on several things at once...who works on only one project at a time?? (Not me, ever.) Secondary project is some new everyday skirts and/or dresses, since I keep buying red tag fabric from work when it goes half off for that purpose, and it's kind of out of control. So I've got a 50s-style gathered skirt about half finished, done in the most obnoxious bright pink poppy print.
Primary project, of course, is the 1790s outfit. I'm still pondering my shoe options, so I decided to just jump in and work on the gown. had a (very crappy) 1790s pattern from 2011 I made, so I had something to start with. Got the mockup for the lining fitted pretty quickly - it's going to have a fitted bodice lining and the gown will be gathered over that. Basically a slightly updated chemise gown! I've resolved to machine-sew stuff that won't show, so I got the lining pieces sewn, and tore the panels of the gown fabric as well.
