As you may (or may not remember), last time we discussed this dress I had ordered a whole mess of swatches for the silk for the underdress. Probably not. It was a while ago. (It's my day off, so I'm cheerfully distracting myself with my next project rather than the 1790 jacket that's sitting right there, reproaching me for being flighty.)

Anyway. So I bought that whole mess of swatches, and couldn't really decide. And I still can't decide. So I turn to you, o LJ, to give me your opinion so I can turn around and pick the one you liked least, as I generally do when I ask your opinion!

This is the portrait, though it doesn't really matter so much; all you need to know is that it's to be cotton voile over a colored silk underdress. About half the swatches I got were in the trying-to-match-the-portrait range, and after a bit more thought I decided I won't hold myself to really recreating it. I much prefer blues or greens (or reds, but I'm ferreals not allowed to make another red dress right now) so really, I can make this dress blue or green if I want it! Blue, I think.

5 would be a relatively close match, but my preference goes to 4. I guess I'm not really a blue person ;)

Haha, that's valid! 4 really has a great depth to it, very pretty fabric.
