What I've been up to

Partly because Robin has been known to bug me about it, and partly because I do have a bunch of old things in the costume closet I'll never wear again, I decided on my last day off to open a little shop on Etsy. Nothing exciting at this point - just a few of my old costumes and bits & pieces that aren't crappy enough to just get rid of, but that I obviously will never wear again! I don't think anything I've made since 2011.
(When I start putting things in the shop I think any of you might want, I'll link you to it. Right now, though...seriously, I know you people have standards!)
I didn't think anybody would want it, but hey, a listing is cheap enough. Much to the surprise of me, I have in fact sold three things; spotted sari Regency, dorky 18thc cap, and block print 1770s dress. So, that might be a nice bit of pocket money if I can put up a few things people want to buy. So, that cap I'm almost finished will go up when it's done (if Alice decides she doesn't want it), and I cut out two 18thc hats yesterday, too. People like hats, right? Robin tells me people like hat-things.
And I forgot completely last week that I wanted to brag about my new teacups for my 18thc tea! Strictly speaking they're the wrong century (they're dated to about 1845), but considering how much your average handle-less teacup costs, I am disgustingly pleased with the deal I got. For a set of six with saucers, it was a really good deal!
Had to give it a trial run, you see. Multiple times.

And they're bigger than I thought they'd be - the saucer is seriously like a little salad bowl. More tea for everyone!

So as a result of Oh Hey Maybe I Can Sell Things For Pocket Money, I haven't worked much on the bird print dress. But it's doing pretty well - the dress is all hemmed, except for neckline and sleeve-related things. I don't want to fit the shoulders til I put eyelets in the shoulder straps of the new stays...and I don't want to sew eyelets! So I started putting trim on the front drape/skirt, haha. And I did take a few shots of the dress over my plain petticoat, so you can maybe see some detail. Although, not on me, so it's a bit wonkus.

Yes, my pleats are uneven. So'm I.
