I finished sewing the skirt panels, hemmed the skirt, and sewed 1/4 tucks today. I probably could have done a good bit on the second one too, except that I got an offer I couldn't refuse: dinner at our family's favorite burger place, and then a five-mile walk around the neighboorhood, admiring people's flower beds or judging their unkempt laws. (And making friends with someone's orange tabby-cat.)

So I've got four weeks to make a dress, a spencer, and a bonnet. I've made a schedule that seems reasonable, so if I can stick to that at all I should be able to finish everything in time! Famous last words...

Edit: HMMM. I just went and ironed my first tuck and it is craaaacked ouuuuuut. I didn't draw lines because I was following the stupid dots! Not that it would surprise me if they were somehow slightly uneven, as this was cheap fabric. You all know I'm hardly a perfectionist, but this is a really unacceptable tuck. MUST PONDER my best course of action. Step One being, unfortunately, remove tuck.

*grumble grumble*

You can do it! (Though you might have to break out a ruler, oops)

Rulers are for LOSERS!!

It's more that I'm afraid of marking up the skirt permanently, I think. My disappearing ink pen disappears 98% of the time but I KNOW it would chose a white dress to permanently mark!

Of course it would! Could you mark with pins and then baste along the line? A lot of work, I know...

I decided marking in pencil was the lesser of the two weevils. xD
