Started the coat!

mandie_rwI thought about starting it very hard for most of today, and then before dinner finally managed to actually cut out a mockup. It's basically my dress pattern with a little extra width added in, and slightly bell-shaped sleeves. Seems to be working so far. Might cut out the pieces tonight...or might not, am feeling lazy.
Mom offered to take me to a nice restaurant for my birthday, but being me, I thought of something else I wanted more. So I bargained her down to dinner at Panera, some blackberry pear cider (which I am sipping now, and yum!), and the Gutermann thread tower at work, which CONVENIENTLY just went to clearance. So with my discount it was about $50, which I think is a pretty damn good deal for 80 spools of Gutermann in a tower that SPINS. (I've had my eye on them since they came in months ago, and none of them sold, yay for me.)
