Pumpkin Tea 2014

On Saturday, I went down with my local peeps to the Annual Pumpkin Tea, hosted by
sadievale and her mom. As always, they're wonderful hostesses and put out a really good spread!
A fair summation of this event could amount to: We came, we saw, we ate. :D We didn't even go out to the pub for a late dinner as we usually do; instead a platter of Chick-fil-A nuggets, champagne, tiaras, and jammies sounded like a really good way to spend the evening. While laughing ourselves sick while watching Austenland, because that just seemed the most appropriate.
This is my favorite picture anyone took, I think...Regency wedgie shot! (With a bonus Maggie, hee hee.)

And a slightly more standard group shot from In the Long Run

Getting ready: Poor Alice was having Curl Problems. I was no help because curling is one thing my hair is quite happy to do.

The setup before we descended on it like a flock of vultures. Pretty!

isabelladangelo got a nice shot of me drinking my tea all ladylike. HAH. Misleading.

And I like this one (from Gloria) of me yoinking more snackies...I think that was the home-made marshmallow. All th noms!

We usually go outside for pictures, because there are so many of us! Isn't Gloria's bonnet simply fantabulous?

Maggie and I showing off our one-of-a-kind (of two-of-a-kind, for my boots!) Robert Lands! They were such an impulse buy for me, but no regrets here, because they are gorgeous AND comfortable.

Gloria got a better shot inside where the color looks better. Yes, this is all a Robert Land shoe advertisement, haha. (Unpaid, though!) They're actually my first pair of his shoes, but I SO want more!

Shoe shot!

I wore This Old Thing...although considering I've never actually wore the whole outfit to an event before (the jumper several times, but not the spencer), it's alright. And I stuck a few more feathers and a bow on my bonnet to make it a little more fun.

For some reason no one wanted to join Alice and I in a walk down the road. On some reflection, the temperature may have had something to do with it...I like the cold though! (Which you may have noticed from all my "let's have lots of winter events! outside!!" chirping.)

Winter clothes are the best, though, especially period winter clothes. People are crazy with their summers or whatever. Especially their Philadelphia summers! *wilts*

And later: nuggets are heeeeere! Let's break out the champaaaaaaagne! (Actually I'm pretty sure we didn't wait for the chicken nuggets to arrive before opening the champagne.)

We drove back Sunday morning, after a breakfast of more tea food (and took more with us!), and made it back to the Philadelphia area quite uneventfully, with only a small detour around DC because the GPS got confused. WHY does the GPS always get confused there?! It's happened multiple times with different systems, different cars...clearly DC sends off Confusion Waves or something. Popped over to Robin's to give her a couple bits of fabric from the destashing that made me think of her, then drove home in the rain...glad it didn't rain the rest of the weekend!
And now I can go back to working on my mismatched plaid 1860s! As soon as I'm done these blog posts, that is...

Date: 2014-11-21 04:15 am (UTC)We're all way too agreeable...it ended up being a "What do you want to do for dinner?" "No, what do *you* want to do?" sort of thing! Since there were no strong opinions, we figured we couldn't go wrong with jammies and a hilarious movie.
