Hello, where have I been? Haven't rolled off the face of the earth or anything...I've been collecting my thoughts for a couple of (brace yourselves) Paid Things. One of them is a bonnet for blackcat452, the other is for an historic site not too far from me. I'm sure they won't mind if I blog about it, but I'm waiting for an ok before I do.

Other than that, my primary sewing-related activity for the week was to drop my iron on its head and kill it. Oopsie. Good thing A/ it was old, and B/ we've got another one.

Today I did have some sewing time for me, though, and I decided it might be a good idea to sort out a new dress for Fort Fred this year, if I want one (of course I do). I started a new outfit last year for Ft Fred, but didn't get too far before I realized I wasn't able to go. So, may as well keep going on that, right? After all, it's striped!

All I did tonight was pleat up the petticoat and sew it to the waistband, but that means I've now got a petticoat, so not too bad.

The bodice pieces are already cut out and the backs are sewn together, but I need to recut the fronts because the stripes don't match up with the stripes on the side piece. Derp. Uhh, maybe I'll do that tomorrow. Cutting doesn't sound like a brilliant idea at this time of night.

Not sure yet which day to go...I know there was talk of a Regency lunch on Saturday and Fort Fred Sunday, but I don't think anyone's confirmed that yet. I've taken off both days from work though, so I'm up for either day!

I love the idea of the Regency lunch Saturday, but I just can't swing paying for that AND shopping at Ft. Fred. Priorities!! LOL I also need to head home Sunday afternoon, so I don't want to be in a rush. So for me at least, I'm doing Saturday at Ft. Fred.

Those are very fair priorities! :D There's no big shopping I want to do, I don't think, so I should have the money to spend on lunch. If I were driving, I'd definitely do Saturday, as I know I'm way too tired after a day at the market to drive home safely! Alice has offered to carpool though, so I'm off the hook with that, thank goodness. So we'll see!
