Apr. 13th, 2012 12:33 amCrawling along on the striped jacket - I lost a day of sewing yesterday, because I spent most of the day when not at work running scans on the stupid computer, because somebody decided it would be brilliant to open a spam email and click on the link. I was at the point where I really needed to try the jacket on, so zero sewing.
And then today I had to hem curtains for my sister. Why that takes so long, I don't know, but it took forever! I did get to try the jacket on (it seems to fit in a fairly non-horrendous way, if I pretend the couple wrinkles don't exist!), and then hemmed it when I got home tonight.
Woo.
Edit: And I've been thinking about the teens day dress I was going to make for the Longwood outing...I'm just so not excited by the teens right now (even with all your lovely pictures from the dinner). I was only really excited by it when I was watching all that Downton Abbey. And I can't keep rewatching that show all the time to put me in the mood!
So I think I'm going to can the day dress (no outing, don't need dress!), and am weighing my options with the evening dress...
Pros: I have all the fabric and supplies, except for the corset boning and busk; I'll probably feel left out on Saturday night at Dress U if I'm not in teens; I made those wretched combinations already!
Cons: I'll have precisely zero reasons to wear a teens evening dress ever again; all the fabric is Stash so it's not like I really bought it specially for this; my current apathy toward then teens; I have a million other things I'd rather make!
It might just be that I'm feeling sulky tonight, we'll see. :P
At least my new Fugger-wugger (yes, that is what I call them) shoes are in the mail, should be here next week. In plenty of time for Fort Fred!
