(no subject)

Planned sewing day at Alice's yesterday was thwarted by Car Shenanigans, but since Alice wanted her giant spaceship hat, she came here to get it. ;) I got my hat all mulled, and cut out a Vintage Vogue pattern that I want to make soon.

Today I was off, but had lunch with a friend who's a fair drive away, so I spent most of the day there. I did get one piece of silk sewn onto the bonnet, and made a couch cushion to go under the corded petticoat. More about the couch cushion later.

I won't get any sewing at all done tomorrow, as it's the Indian King's skirmish tomorrow, which is their big event of the year. (And then work, natch.) Supposed to be hot, with potential thunderstorms, which does not thrill me. So I'm basting my sleeve ruffles into my shell print jacket right now, ironing things, and deciding what sewing to put into my basket. (I don't particularly care what they need, since I've never seen anyone wear one single thing I've given them, so I won't deny I'm a bit miffed on that count! They're at least getting the black market hat I cut out, because I don't want it. Everyone and their mother has one now!)

ETA: And I appear to have lost my white linen mitts since I last wore them, to Jockey Hollow. Bastards.
