Back to the jacket!
Mar. 5th, 2016 11:48 pmI mocked up, fitted, cut out, and started sewing the sleeves for the green striped jacket today; mostly because I couldn't avoid them any more. Not that they took much mocking up or fitting, as I just tweaked the two-piece sleeve from the dress-in-a-day to make it just above wrist length. And I was personally offended at how much fabric stripe-matching wastes on those sleeves! Not even matching them at the seams, just so that lefts and rights matched each other. Sheesh.
I think I might be able to finish the jacket tomorrow, barring trim (which is in the mail - 3/4" butter-yellow silk satin ribbon. I almost bought a coordinating deep bisque, but then decided I'm more obnoxious than that), since I'm off. That would be good. We shall see!
