but it's all right now
May. 28th, 2012 01:10 amAfter having a nice sulk for the rest of the night yesterday (watched a ridiculous amount of all types of Sherlock Holmes on YouTube...why is Nigel Bruce's Watson so incredibly stupid? More importantly, why on earth would Holmes keep someone that incredibly incompetent around?), I don't feel so bad about the 20s dress.
I've put it in the naughty pile for now. If I have time to mess with it after I finish the 1860s dress, I'll give it another shot. If not, that's fine. Then I'll wear my pseudo-1890s green silk dress (which means it will get worn twice in two days, but that's OKAY, I LIKE IT. Even if it doesn't fit me as well as it did when I made it four years ago!) to the Titanic dinner.
Now that that's out of the way, ON TO THE SEWING.
Well, doesn't look like much, but I spent quite a few hours on finishing the bertha today! Hand sewing, you know. And cutting little triangles out of a hundred and ten inches of fabric. Can't wait for the skirt flounces!

I feel like it needs something more...but what? No, you can't see all those painstakingly cut little triangles very well at all.And the length of the bodice is probably a bit on the short side, but EH. First 1860s ballgown, what do you want?
(Plus it's not like I can make it longer now, anyway.)
