1770s striped jacket
Apr. 9th, 2012 11:17 pmYep, still thinking 18th century!
Got a nice bit of work done for the striped jacket tonight - and I think I spent longer cutting the pieces out of the striped fabric than I did fitting the mockup! It only needed some tweaking of the the shoulder back seam and cutting the armscye a tiny bit bigger in front. That means something will be completely effed up in the jacket's fit when it's all put together, right? That's just how it goes.
Anyway, fitted the mockup, made a paper pattern, and cut the cotton stripe and ivory linen (for the lining). Oh so productful I am. I thought about Fun With Bias, because that's what I tend to like to do with stripes, but this fabric's obnoxious enough I decided to stay with vertical stripes!

And now I probably won't touch the thing for two weeks, right?
