I wish I wouldn't be really annoyed with myself for not cartridge-pleating the skirt of my gown, but I would, because THAT'S HOW 1840s DRESSES WERE MADE. (Okay, I did find one example dated to late '30s-early '40s that is knife pleated, but most are gauged, "whenever the nature of the material permitted it." *scowl*)
