1840s corded petticoat
Nov. 22nd, 2010 01:46 amSixteen rows done, which puts the cording up to about knee-height. More, more! Yawn. But not tonight. Lord, this is the most boring project to post about ever...no pictures, just, "And then I sewed another row of cording..."
And I can't wait to see how much the thing weighs when it's done, it's already pretty heavy. Seriously, no wonder the crinoline was invented; this outfit may win my Most Impractical Costume award when it's done! Just for the sheer amount of fabric in all the skirts...after the corded petticoat I'm planning on two more cotton petticoats to try and get the proper shape for mid-1840s. We shall see exactly how many are needed as I go along!
