Sep. 8th, 2010 12:31 amClearly, the solution to sewing angst is to start something else, while eating gingersnaps dunked in milk and reading LiveJournal. All at the same time. This could be why nothing ever gets done?
Still, gingersnaps are pretty tasty, so I won't complain.Any more.
The added Thing, by the way, is another Vintage Vogue pattern, a 1957 dress this time. In a pink linen/rayon blend. Very, very pink. It's half cut out -- only half because I got the midnight munchies and went hunting in the kitchen, and then decided to post about that.
And I'm close...ish to the end of 20thc sewing fabric stash; I've got enough for three more dresses. (I think.) Plus linen for a late 60s kaftan. Hey, I wanted something light to wear around the house in hot weather. (Yes, I've watched Performance too many times. Yes, I realize it's September. I can have it for NEXT SUMMER OKAY.)
OH YEAH also I fixed one of the dresses on the List. Easy fix, but hooray for something being accomplished!
Da List:
- 1950s print voile dress that needs to be hemmed and have the belt put together
- Burda 1960s-style blue and pink mini-dress that needs a zipper and a hem
- striped 1940s dress from another Butterick Retro pattern I've got that needs to be taken in so I'll actually wear it
- same for a black & white 50s dress
- early 1960s-style plaid silk dress, currently hidden in a bag because I sewed the sleeves on backwards, so it got shoved away in disgust a couple months ago
- 1947 Butterick Retroblack & white striped dress and black jacket: finish dress, start jacket
- 1957 pink Vintage Vogue dress
