mandie_rw: (art deco)
Is done, FINALLY. I didn't get much of anything else sewing-related done today; we're having the family over tomorrow for mother's day, and I had to clean and do seven tons of laundry. Which I then hung out on the line, and had fun watching it almost fly away. I don't know what the wind got up to today, but I would guess at least 30mph. Crazy. Was especially funny when I washed a load of fabric, and hung that out...I really thought that was going to take the clothesline and escape, especially the 5 yards of pink linen blend for a 1950s dress (yes! finally! a pink dress! all thanks to all the lovely pink things [livejournal.com profile] reine_de_coudre makes, heh. I wanted something pink myself!).

I did get the pieces of my graduation dress cut out; I decided to use the berry plaid silk, mostly because I'd have to wear brown shoes with the voile, and the robe's black, and I don't want to do that. *grin* It's a good thing I realized that, because I really could not decide between the two for the longest time. And I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered the fabric...I thought I'd had this pattern in mind when I bought the fabric, but either I wasn't, I can't read, or I was seriously not sober, because I've got a whole yard left over. ??? Whatever. I think I might have lined up the plaid properly, but nobody hold their breath for that.
