You know, if I didn't have this journal, I might actually have to do work...
These are the rest of the faire pictures (not many more!) from August in the venetian. Very Exciting. (And a couple from the ones I took for Bella's Realm of Venus showcase in June.)
Well, I wanted some more pics. Shuttup; I like to brag as much as the rest of you.

Da nose. And I have no doubts it'll only get worse as I get older!

My hair. 'Cuz it'll never look like that again. Don't know how I had the luck to get it to look halfway decent.

Picture of how much the corded petticoat holds the skirt out. And the padding in the cartridge pleats. Didn't actually notice that before. This is after the faire, btw, so, yes, I am Tired, and I look it. :) The blue you can see is the gown lining.

I look extemely grumpy...and the damask looks really washed out. Whatever. Funnily, the skirt doesn't look split at all...

Pic of the back, sans corded petticoat. And sleeves.

One of my only pics of this thing where you can tell there's a split skirt with a petticoat underneath. Yah, I just had to.

Question about your corded petticoat because I think I am going to need to make one for my Autumn dress. What is the difference from a corded petticoat and a frathigale???? I can't get my mind around it and figure it out.

Well, it's the same basic principle (stiffening sewn into horizontal channels on the skirt), but with a farthingale, you use stiff boning, like hoopwire, and for my petticoat, I used hemp. The stuff I used isn't the same width as I've used on bodices; it's rather thicker. Can't remember the exact width right now, but I think it was 1/4". Basically the thickest stuff I could find at Wal-Mart. :)
