Because everyone else is doing it...

Costumes I've Made in 2009. (Even though, of course, now it's past midnight, so it's technically 2010. Whatever.)
Probably not in exact order, mostly because I don't remember and it's too much trouble to look up right now!
Made a bunch of everyday dresses and skirts (everyday being a relative term -- but really, I do wear these kinds of dresses on an everyday basis!

Made my friend a pair of 18thc stays

Pet en l'air and petticoat --for no good reason, as it never actually got worn anywhere. Also, the back hem of the pet en l'air is totally not even. Ooops. Fail. I do like the fichu, though.

Peach striped polonaise of Hate. I did wear it once, to Fort Mifflin, and promptly developed such unreasonable wrath towards it that I've given it away on the condition I never ever see it again.

Madrigal dress for my mommy. Sleeve fiasco, in which sleeves misbehaved and were murdered.

Black velveteen Tudor gown for the Ren faire. I am pleased with this one!

1869 Foy corset, and chemise and drawers to go with. Also a bustle form Corsets & Crinolines. (Were the drawers this year? Oh, who cares. I'll say they were.)
And a hat, to go with my as-yet non-existent striped 1870ish dress

Okay, so that's not too bad. Not nearly as impressive as some people on my friends-list, but I tend to feel at the end of the year like I've sewn, like ONE costume, and I have to prove to myself that it's been more than that!
I've got about a billion things I'm scheming about sewing in 2010, of course...I'll make a Totally Unreasonable List that I will proceed to completely disregard as soon as I make it. So...might as well make that list right now, huh?
Things I want To Sew in the New Year But Probably Won't
- 1870ish red and white striped walking dress
- 1844 C&C corset and corded petticoat
- red 1840s day dress
- 1911 C&C corset
- late 16thc jacket and petticoat, coif
- 1971 Gernreich swimsuit from KCI book (No...not the topless one.)
- bridesmaid dress --which I actually NEED to sew!
- Figure out what the heck to do with all the fabric.com silk taffeta I bought
- patchwork quilt for A's wedding gift -- aka. the Damn Quilt. I know I said I was going to chuck it all, but...I dunno, I like punishment. Also actually need to sew this.
