Not-Reading-Airshow tea

Well, I meant to write this up a week ago...details, details. But I'm trying to write more, because I like writing, and I'm always better when I do it consistently!
(Also, when I fail microeconomics this summer, maybe I can somehow figure out how to get someone to pay me for writing something instead of teaching. Certainly not here, but...)
Robin's already done her very timely writeup, but I think we looked very nice and had a lot of fun, even if it wasn't as flashy and scenic as the airshow! (I stole all these pictures from Robin so if they look familiar...that's why.)
In summary: the weather forecast sucked, and then it sucked a bit less, but all of us besides
hiraimi are wimpy and didn't especially want to go and spend $30 admission plus an hour-and-fifteen driving time to hang out on an airfield in the chilly, possibly rainy weather. Alice was gracious about us wimping out the night before and still showed up to tea, though. ;) Plus, everyone besides me had finished something new for the air show, so the new things needed to be worn Out, even if not to an air show!

And honestly...this picture says all you need to know about us. Can't behave ourselves and have lots of fun doing so!
(I got the 1940s blouse mostly finished, and sewed two seams on the trousers before I realized the pinky-red twill I was using had dyed the plastic edge of my machine bright pink! From two seams. Um...I'm not going to finish those. It was stash fabric anyway so we'll just take that as a loss and move on, because I don't want to be dyed pink on my lower half!)

Rob is very kind to take good pictures of us, while I present his wife with a flower, LOL.
miss_philomena 's standing in a hole, but this is a better "what we're wearing" shot!

Everybody's wearing proper 40s except me...I'm wearing a MUXXN dress from Amazon. xD Well...it's vaguely New Look/early 50s, I am very fond of it, and it was one of the only cool-weather dresses left in my closet! Everything else is up in the attic in a box with everyone else's winter clothes on top of it, and that seemed like too much work to dig out! Whatever, it looks vintagey, and tea house standards are not as strict as air show standards. ;)

We had a thoroughly enjoyable tea at the Talking Teacup, as always, and toddled over to the antique market next door afterward. Our friend Meredith joined us for tea, which was lovely - she was at the end of a long weekend so went home after the antiques, where we did stay quite a long time!

Robin gave me the hat I'm wearing (for my birthday), that you can't see, but I assure you it's very cute.

Creepy headless mannequin is creepy and headless. We were forcefully herded into this setting for the lady from the antique mall's photos! She was like that last time, too... although we must have bought all her $5 hats because she didn't bring out any bins this time. Well...we did buy a lot of hats last time.

I dunno what that face is, but I think I've got my fur in the rest of the pictures...it was chilly!

And breezy.

SHENANIGANS
In costume terms it's not a thriller, but I love these pictures because we do look like we have fun together! (We do, but it's obvious enough here that it makes me smile.)

Also this picture is everything I love about my friends. xD
