I've mostly been pretty lazy, which is very nice! I have done a little bit of sewing - finished altering a couple RTW dresses that have been hanging round for weeks (there's a vintage-inspired brand from Amazon that I'm very fond of for Nicer School-Acceptable Dresses, but most of the styles are juuuust too big in the boob; the dresses are good enough quality that it's worth my time to take them in), and re-dyed my 1940s navy straw hat. Yes, the one I bought last year and never successfully re-dyed it - it was sun-faded on top, and a quick dye spritz wasn't enough to help it out! I also dyed the laundry sink inadvertently while dyeing said hat...it's now a lovely shade of weird purple from the navy dye.
Whatever, we don't own the house. *evil grin*
Also decided that since everybody else is making a new outfit for the Reading WWII air show, I want one too. No worries if I don't finish it, but since the forecast isn't really sun-dress weather AGAIN this year...plus, of course it'll just get added to the everyday closet whenever it's finished, if I don't wear it to Reading!
Using strictly stash for this, but if you've seen my stash you'd know that's not really a problem...I cut out the blouse pieces today and started sewing them together. Currently the neck facing is being a total dick, so I'm grudgingly hand sewing it to keep it under control. I think it might actually turn out cute, though, since I took out a majority of the SIX INCHES OF EASE Simplicity decided this pattern (#1692) needed. Uh, no.
