I didn't really have strong feelings about Emma Watson in this; she didn't wow me, I didn't hate her...but I'd bet there were better choices that could have been made in casting that role, though offhand I couldn't say who.
And, hah! Seriously, re: the raptor suits! They should have hired Weta...if they could turn a bunch of stunt guys into Orcs with all practical effects, I have no doubt they would have pulled off a Beast! Over-used CGI always ends up looking dated in just a couple years, too. :/
