Nov. 15th, 2016 12:54 amStill finding it a little bit difficult to get back into the swing of things, after last week's metaphorical meteor hit. There's a lot to work on, both costuming and real-life, that I can't keep putting off! The idea of New Castle is enjoyable, though, and that's helping.
I did finish
sewloud's 1830s bonnet and handed it off Sunday; she seemed to be tickled with it so that's good! I also cut out the rest of the mantle layers and am almost done basting them together. I contemplated sewing the edge binding on the machine, since I machine-sewed the back and side pieces together...but I know the velvet and flannel (interlining) will be evil and creepy if I do, so it's probably less work in the long run just to do it by hand in the first place. And I need to decide what feather-type-things I need for my bonnet and mantle and order them, like, yesterday.
And somebody actually ordered a painted petticoat from my etsy shop (shock and awe! and slight horror) so I should probably get cracking on that too.
