mandie_rwThis week's going to be a bit of a bust for sewing...I'm going up to New York on Wednesday night and staying through Friday afternoon, for that toilet paper dress competition thing, and then Saturday is the International Organ Competition final at Longwood Gardens. I really wanted to make a new dress for that, but I guess I wanted an 1830s dress more, haha. Only regretting that a smidge now! I really like that voile I bought... ah well. I could start it, but there's no way I can make this Vogue pattern in a little over a day (tomorrow's out as I have to go out and hunt down a long-line strapless bra to wear with the toilet paper dress, and god knows how long that will take)!
And I wanted a new hat, too. Stupid-ass Charmin competition. *grumble grumble* I think I'm supposed to be excited, but I'm hung up on losing sewing time! And NY isn't really my jam (I know, I'm such a cretin). I would literally go read in the park all day Thursday, after the modeling's done, but it's supposed to rain, which bums me out. There's always the Met, I guess. Too bad the current fashion exhibit doesn't sound like a thriller for me, either! Everything there is to do in NY costs, which doesn't sit well with this cheap, cheap bastard. Oooh, I sound like such a whiny brat; poor poor me, I have to spend the day in NY! Well, maybe the judges will absolutely floor me and pick my aunt's dress to be the winner, in which case I'll have less free time, LOL.
