So! Apart from tacking on the scarf, the hat's all done, and I have a really horrible laptop pic to prove it!

(I was wearing it around all afternoon, and could I remember to get a pic of it then? Naturally, no.) Decided to trim it with my green and red shot taffeta rather than the green and brown shot shantung, mainly because I could just rip strips of the taffeta with no hemming. xD Also finished painting the flats - I got tired of painting after 7 coats I think! Still a little streaky but not from general eyeball-height. The heels, I think, can wait; I'm not sure I don't want a yellower green that I currently have.
And the robe?
A confession as to why I've been so much more enthusiastic about the hat that the robe. Guys...I'm making a pillow-ticking dress. D: I mean, I knew it looked like pillow ticking when I got it, but it reaaaaaally looks like pillow ticking from the damn Joann's utility section.

PILLOW TICKING GAAAAH.
So guess what I did? Poked through the stash, pulled out a striped silk blend (I think I bought it as a cotton silk blend but I bought it in 2011 so who knows), cut it out, and sewed the bodice together! Eh, I'm further than I was on the original dress, right? Still striped! Ok, not as interesting as the other stripes, but it's nicer fabric. Shiiiny. And it's not like I have to worry about being hot in silk because IT'S NEVER GOING TO BE WARM AGAIN AND/OR NOT RAINING. Hrmph.

Date: 2016-05-18 09:42 am (UTC)Actually, it's supposed to be a lovely 76 on Friday and sunny. It's just Saturday that *might* get up to 60 and rain all day. Sunday will be 72 but thunderstorms! I thought it was April showers, May flowers?
