mandie_rwSewed some more tucks into the corded petticoat today - 9 done! And I think that'll probably be it for now, since it occurred to me that my picnic is next weekend, as in the one after this one. Hmm. Should probably get cracking on that!
I think I'm going to make a straw hat rather than buckram, although they probably take the same amount of time when I have to sew all the straw braid together (which I do). I'm still out of millinery wire and don't feel like ordering more right now, and then I don't have to make the difficult decision as to what color silk to get to cover the hat, too. xD And I think I want the ridiculous dorky vertical feather(s) that are all over the place in 1790s plates:
Worst idea for a picnic hat ever? Do I care? Probably not? It might not be windy...let's live dangerously! (So then I do actually need to buy some drabs. Preferably, like, now.)
