But wearable, which is always good. Half the battle, really. Needs trim.

(There's one sad small line of gathered voile on it now, which I think looks more pathetic than if there was no trim at all. You tried? LOL)

Don't have much left for trim - in a relative sense, for the 18thc. I'll be fine for the gown itself, but I don't think there's going to be much in the way of a petticoat flounce. I could always buy more, I guess - it's sold in 2.5y lots and I don't want to overbuy, but a petticoat flounce would probably eat that right up. Will have to decide on that soon, as it ships from India and can take a while! I'll cut the dress trim and then see how much I have left.

And I'm really starting to feel the need for a taffeta under-petticoat, for oomph. My velvet quilted petticoat gives some nice oomph...but it's velvet and quilted! And lined in wool. Lovely and snuggly outdoors in the winter, a little too snuggly for weather above, say, 50F. And, oddly enough, I don't have that many taffetas just laying around...yes, there are a few dress lengths, but 1/ if I cut into them for a petticoat they won't be dress lengths any more, and 2/none of them are the pale-colored solids I would prefer for an 18thc under-petticoat (my only real stash option is a nice green and red and beige stripe. Yeah, that'll shadow through...). Good thing I'm making a bit of pocket money now... ;)

Thank you! I really like it...and it hides any weirdness with my polonaise-making skillz, hehe.

Thank you! :) A flounce is definitely choice #1...I need to stop putting off measuring for gown trim, so I can see what I have left!
