Jane Austen tea

In short - it was a day of chatting with friends, playing dress-up, shopping, eating good food, and drinking tea, and champagne which was often pink! How could it fail to be a most excellent time?



The weather was glorious, and so much thanks to madamekat for hosting (and to dragoneyes19 for bringing the tent! ;) )! Julia of The Bohemian Belle brought lots of her lovely hats and accessories and Taylor brought her beautiful ribbon for Shopping Purposes, which we all descended upon like a flock of vultures.


There was lots of good food...


And pink champagne aplenty!


Plenty.



There was the walking of Dashwood


and promenading. Through the neighborhood and getting funny looks from people in passing cars. (Happily none of us were arrested for public intoxication.)













The sun umbrella got so drunk it fell over.


Tea and champagne was the order of the day.






Yep, a Pride & Prejudice board game. Not sure who ended up winning...I think everyone lost, since nearly everyone's drink fell over at least once!

And I had my new dress! Which my shift sleeves managed to hang out of all day without my noticing in the least.

As I mentioned, I still want to make detachable long sleeves to go with it, the front of the sleeve needs some tweaking of the fit, and I really need another Regency bonnet, but it came out pretty cute and I'm happy with it!
