Silly costume-ADD I don't follow through on, that is!
For reasons unknown, I'm very much in the mood to expand my Regency wardrobe right now. Conveniently, I've got a Regency picnic on May 4th. Inconveniently, it's on May 4th. Which isn't that much time, considering my track record with actually finishing things on time. Or ever. I want something new, the question is what.
Anyway, options.
1/ Finish that cream figured silk bonnet I started for last year's Pumpkin Tea, and wear an old dress (the jumper or the spotted silk depends on weather).
2/ Make the Lizzie Bennett dress, which was my original plan for this event. Obviously no time for dress/spencer/bonnet, but I think I'd be able to get the dress done.
3/ Discovered some blue voile in the Stash, which I was going to sell off, but which in no uncertain terms told me it wants to be a specific dress in Costume in Detail (one of the 18-teens ones), and I can't say no to talking fabric. Itching to make it, but for some reason it says walking dress rather than casual picnic dress. (War of 1812 day at Ft Mifflin, anyone??)
4/ Make the spencer to go with my jumper and put the pompoms on it (because really. FINISH things!). Down side of this is that I've let my pompom trim sit too long and have decided I don't like it any more so am canvassing for new pompom trim.
5/ Make a different spencer to go with the jumper (because without the pompoms, that's a super-boring spencer)...I have enough taffeta left over from the 1780s dress and the 16thc petticoat to make a spencer, plus I have not-too-slubby moss-green dupioni, cream taffeta, and various reds. But I'm leaning towards the orange if I do this option!
