the post promising a post?

I really need to get SOMETHING to a "can quickly pick up and put down" hand sewing point, because I'm finding myself with half hour chunks of free time in the evenings. Post-lesson-planning so nothing that requires brainpower, but I could definitely manage a bit of hand work. Almost makes me wish I was a knitter! (Almost. Not quite!) Have to see if I can cut out a new chemisette this weekend. That would be a good hand project, and I desperately need one if we're Regency-picnicking this summer...my old ones are GRODY.

The promise of a post is in reference to a blog post about the new turn of the century hat...as you Instagram peeps may have seen, I did in fact get out this past weekend to get some pictures. They're very pretty pictures but not terribly good at actually showing hat detail...but that's OK. Thanks Tom. xD (He's new to costume documentation, I'll cut him some slack.) Been working on that post off and on this week, so that's another "hopefully this weekend" goal.

Helped that 3/7 students ended up being absent today! I like (or at least don't hate) all my kids but I will never complain about getting paid not to teach! So I got a good chunk of planning out of the way during those hours, so I had time tonight to wrap up my blog post on ze hat, which is here.

Really it's just a lot of low-light pictures and feathers waving, but...that's what a hat do!
