Velvet mantle

I think I might've been channeling a 1930s boudoir jacket, though, lol. Whatever, it works for me!
(I decided a dorky bow was in order, rather than a boring hook and eye fastening. I mean...it's a velvet mantle with marabou, not like a bow is putting it over the top or anything, haha! The good ship Restraint has already sailed.)
I got my skates in the mail today (and they weigh a TON, I fogot how heavy those things are!), and as long as they fit I'm very happy with them! (I refuse to take off my slipper socks right now, and naturally the skates don't fit over those.) They're well worn but also very well maintained, and look quite reasonably Victorian in shape! Yeah, I know they mostly used the skates that strap or clamp on, and there are tons of those on ebay quite cheap...but I'm not sticking a nail into the heel of my American Duches boots, thanks. Those weren't cheap!
There's an outdoor rink about a mile from me that opened this weekend for the winter, so I do intend to get some practice in before my birthday! Is it sad to go ice skating by yourself? Probably. OH WELL.
