So! In the process of draping the gown - the back was the easiest, so I decided to fit, cut, and sew that first. So far so good!

I may regret saying this, but I'm not finding a polonaise nearly as intimidating to drape as I've been led to believe. (Famous last words?) No progress pictures, as I can tell I'm doing some things in a less-than-ideal manner...maybe next time! I know it's the fronts, if anything, that'll give me fits, but we'll see! Off work tomorrow so I'll have a nice chunk of time for fussing with draping and suchlike.

Got the fronts all fitted today! I fussed with the left side for over half an hour and still wasn't thrilled with it. Decided to take a break and do the right - which went perfectly and was fitted nicely in about five minutes. So then I just based the left off the right! Still had a couple of adustments to make to that side when I tried it on, but nothing traumatic.

So I'm now in the process of stitching pleats down and removing pins as I go; left side is all stitched down and front attached to back, now I have to do the same to the right. After which I will get a picture because it's finally looking like a garment!
