mandie_rw: (chemise gown)
I was actually sensible, and only pieced one sleeve, so I could check to see if it fixed the fit, before putting the work into both sleeves! Verdict? Well, it sort of fixed it. That is, they aren't horrendously tight any more, but there are some seriously nasty-looking wrinkles that can't really be fixed on this sleeve. Okay, so I need to make new sleeves.

And since my usual sleeve doesn't quite work, I need to make a mockup first, obviously. Which I am disinclined to do at the moment! It sounds like a lot of trouble. And I don't think I'd really have enough time to finish it all for tomorrow.

I admit defeat on this round! Turque, you win. I'll just wear the chemise dress tomorrow! At least I have a hat.

After I decided to put away the turque, I still felt like sewing - but how about some machine sewing for a change?? What is this crazy talk?!

So after a bit of pondering over what I need next (nothing immediate!), I decided to make up some combinations for my natural form 1880 dress. I have to start from scratch with that outfit, so may as well start with the bottom layer!

Also they're some wonderfully inexact sewing - making it up as I go, because it's underwear? Don't mind if I do!
